Artemest debuts full-fledged gallery in West Chelsea
Online marketplace Artemest, a hub for contemporary Italian design, has ramped up its physical presence with a 5,000-square-foot brick-and-mortar space in New York’s gallery-lined West Chelsea neighborhood. Located at 518 W. 19th Street, Artemest Galleria highlights ever-changing decor, furniture, and lighting from 1,400 Italian artisans in rotating, museum-like exhibitions. Complete with project and sample rooms, office space, and a garden to illuminate outdoor designs, the gallery is meant to double as an animated workshop for architects and designers to liaise with clients. In the inaugural showcase, Blow, which originally debuted earlier this year at Salone del Mobile in Milan, Caribbean artist Bradley Theodore reinterprets the craft of Murano glassblowing.
Ralph Pucci hops the pond
Celebrations seem to be happening on both sides of the Atlantic this fall, with design season seemingly in full swing. Among these recent fetes was a party hosted by Ralph and Michael Pucci at their gallery’s pop-up location in London’s Mayfair district (also highlighted in AD PRO’s roundup of the must-see moments from London Design Festival). Attendees included many of the dealer’s own talents, including Patrick Naggar, Lianne Gold, and Paul Mathieu, along with London stars like Zandra Rhodes, Lee Broom, and Bethan Gray.
