Where to find Petrified Wood in New World: Petrified Wood location - Dot Esports

sedar.indah.link

Crafting is a core part of the New World experience and you’ll need these materials even if you don’t do any crafting, mainly for quests.

While you’ll stumble upon various crafting materials as you’re going on about your day in New World, some of them will be rarer to come by. This is because some crafting materials will have a lower drop rate than others—and Petrified Wood is one of them.

Compared to more common crafting materials, the chances of you running into Petrified Wood will be significantly lower, making players wonder whether the item is even in the game.

To secure Petrified Wood in New World, you’ll need to narrow down your search parameters and focus on finding young, mature, or dead trees. You’ll also want to build up a nice stack of Green Wood as you loot these tree types since it’s the more common drop compared to Petrified Wood.

Players who’d like to increase their chances and reduce the time it takes to loot Petrified Wood can improve their Logging skill. Try increasing your Logging luck as well and you should start running into more Petrified Wood compared to before.

If you can’t seem to find Petrified Wood after hours of searching, it may be a decent idea to take a break and focus on other aspects of the game since you won’t want to wear yourself out while grinding for a crafting item. Players who don’t intend to work on their Logging skills can try asking a friend who may have gone down that road.

Considering the game just got released, players might be more focused on the story and the PvP aspects of the game. Players should slowly branch into crafting, and when that happens, the number of Petrified Wood in circulation should slowly grow alongside other rare items since more players will need them to craft rare items.

22 genius space-saving furniture pieces for your home - CNN

sedar.indah.link
CNN —

If you’ve ever lived in a space the size of a postage stamp — and trust me, I have — then you’re familiar with the key rules of furnishing said abode.

First, you have to focus on the essentials: small space furniture! These items include, but aren’t limited to, seating, dining, sleeping and storage. Second, you have to make the most of every square foot in your space, including forgotten corners, walls and ceilings. And lastly, multifunctional items are king. A beautiful sofa that turns into a sleeper? Done. A kitchen cart with hideaway stools that has wheels, too? Sold.

But finding these items in an aesthetic that is modern and fresh — and at a palatable price point — isn’t easy. And of course, they need to be high-quality products that aren’t going to break within a week of putting them together. Having lived in nearly half a dozen Manhattan apartments over the years, most of which were 600 square feet or smaller, I know exactly what you need and the smartest way to incorporate these pieces into your space.

So if you’ve tried all sorts of home organization ideas and still need help, below are 22 of the most creative compact furniture solutions you can buy right now. From a storage bed to a drop-leaf dining room table, these are the pieces you’re going to want to scoop up for your living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and beyond. Here’s to your home sweet (small) home.

Living room furniture for small spaces

Albany Park Albany Loveseat ($895; albanypark.com)

Here’s the thing about living rooms: You want to live in them! Even if there’s not much space to go around, we all still need cozy spots. Luckily there’s a lot of beautiful small furniture for small spaces. One of my favorite pieces ever is Albany Park’s Albany Loveseat. At only 62 inches wide, 32 inches high and 34 inches deep, the couch is small enough to be tucked into a corner, but its velvet fabric and high-density foam cushions ensure you and your guests will be as comfy as can be.

Everly Quinn Anapaola Tray Table Floor Lamp ($142.99, originally $169.99; wayfair.com)

A lamp and a side table in one? Yep, we’re OK with that kind of space saving. And this one is a beauty. The gold-finished lamp has a marble base and a gold tray table that is perfect for holding your morning cup of coffee. The best part? The lamp only takes up 14 inches of space!

Grandin Road Chamonix Acrylic Nesting Table, Set of Two ($199; grandinroad.com)

Grandin Road Chamonix Acrylic Nesting Table, Set of Two

Grandin Road Chamonix Acrylic Nesting Table, Set of Two

You need this table set for two reasons. First, acrylic is having a major interior design moment, mainly because its clear composition matches literally everything — from brass and dark metals to light wood, bright velvet, you name it. Second, when you’re hosting a party and are in need of extra side tables, this set pulls apart into two separate tables. Transforming furniture for small spaces is where it’s at! Want some matching pieces? Fear not, Grandin’s got an acrylic console, coffee table and oval side table too.

Hashtag Home Tierney 6-Door Accent Cabinet ($183.99; wayfair.com)

Hashtag Home Tierney 6-Door Accent Cabinet

A wooden take on lockers, this accent cabinet is one of my favorite pieces from Wayfair’s small spaces line, Hashtag Home. Available in four muted colors (peach, mint green, white and gray), the chest provides nearly 40 inches of tabletop space for vases, frames, TVs and more, plus six whole cabinets’ worth of storage.

Suspend Tall Bar Cabinet ($999; cb2.com)

Suspend Tall Bar Cabinet

Sure, we all want a built-in wet bar to serve drinks and store stemware, but when the space for a wall-to-wall unit doesn’t exist, consider this sleek cabinet from CB2 instead. Sitting atop chevron-patterned panels (the wood in each is cut diagonally in opposite directions), the cabinet’s focal point is two slabs of Carrara marble, the perfect spot for mixing a cocktail or placing a decanter. More to know: Three roomy cabinets provide a whole lot of storage.

Home Decorators Collection Aberdeen Double Hall Tree ($434.85, originally $669; homedepot.com)

Mud rooms are the design feature we all yearn for, but most small spaces don’t include entryways with built-in areas for all your stuff. Solve that problem with this beautiful piece from Home Depot’s Home Decorators Collection, which comes in the on-trend hues of white or dove gray and includes drawers, hooks, nooks and seating galore. Looking for something a bit cheaper? Consider this cute bench with three baskets, which starts at just $172.

Lark Manor Tufted Round Storage Ottoman ($209.99; wayfair.com)

Because you can’t fit a sectional couch in your small space, you’re going to want to invest in some ottomans to rest your feet on. This one, which comes with ample storage, is a winner. Crisp and modern in its design, the tufted top is comfy enough to sit on and big enough to hold blankets, board games or whatever else you’re looking to tuck away.

Furmax Stackable Metal Bar Stools, Set of 4 ($99.99; amazon.com)

When it comes to small living room furniture, you need to think outside the box — which is exactly why we love these stools from Amazon. Perfect for those nights when friends and family stop by and you need an extra seat (or four), the metal set is the ultimate space saver given that the stools stack when not in use. Available in 12 fun colors, from bronze and black to bright yellow and red, the stools have more than 2,800 positive reviews and a 4.7-star rating.

Just because you live in a small space doesn’t mean dinner parties aren’t in your future. When you’re hosting a group, this table with more than 2,400 positive reviews on Wayfair can be folded out into a large rectangle with seating for six. When you’re not feeding the masses, the wood-and-metal table can function as a slim 14-inch-deep console.

Here’s a fact: No matter how small or large your home, guests will always congregate in the kitchen. And if yours is ultra small and lacking in seating, invest in this three-piece breakfast bar set that stores two stools and gives you an extra 30 inches of counter space and a built-in paper towel holder. The set is on wheels, so it’s portable too.

When installing a bulky medicine cabinet isn’t in the cards, opt instead for this minimalist storage mirror, which includes three 4-inch-deep shelves that are cleverly hidden behind the frame.

Small space bedroom furniture

Andover Mills Suri Corner Desk (starting at $164.99; wayfair.com)

Just because you live in a studio doesn’t mean you need to give up your full-length mirror — it just means that your mirror needs to work a bit harder than most. This one from Urban Outfitters has non-slip footing and includes hooks and rails to hang or drape your favorite necklaces and scarves.

Compact furniture for small spaces

The Artful Shelf (starting at $94; minted.com)

The Artful Shelf

When in doubt in your small space, look to the walls for answers. Save yourself some precious floor space by hanging shelves throughout to store your wares, from plates and cups in the kitchen to photos and artwork in your living spaces. I’m a big fan of Minted’s wooden ledges, which come in a pretty natural wood stain and are available in four sizes (ranging from 2 to 5 feet long) and have a smart lip design to keep pieces in place.

Laurel Foundry Modern Farmhouse Ermont Bar Cart ($103.99, originally $119.99; wayfair.com)

This one from Wayfair’s Laurel Foundry has more than 1,600 positive reviews and a 4.8-star rating, comes in two wood stain hues and is a steal at this price.

Superior Essentials Wall-Mounted Ironing Board

As boring as ironing is, for some of us it’s a must. Eschew the humongous, old-school board in favor of this wall-mounted option that can be moved and locked into multiple places and folds flat against the wall when not in use.

Not all garments should be machine-dried — but the drying racks of yore are way too big for our small spaces. Instead, opt for this wall-mounted version that has seven sturdy rods of drying space. When retracted, the rack extends a mere 5 inches off the wall.

Utex 3-Shelf Bathroom Organizer Over The Toilet ($72.95; amazon.com)

A cheaper option (with nearly 19,000 positive Amazon reviews) is this sleek metal shelf unit that’s now on sale for under $35.

To say I’m obsessed with this outdoor dining set would be an understatement. Crafted of smooth eucalyptus wood in a light brown stain, the oval table folds into a compact size, storing its six chairs and cushions. When folded down, the set is portable, thanks to wheels on the table, and it comes with a cover if you’d prefer to keep it outside year-round. This furniture designer creates haute couture for the home - Business of Home

Consider Grant Trick the Tom Ford of custom furniture design. Much like the fashion icon’s trend-transcending garments, the Alabama-based designer’s creations are equal parts elegant and sexy, showcasing soft curves, sumptuous materials and superior craftsmanship. “I get inspired by materials,” Trick tells Business of Home. “A lot of people begin with the form of a furniture piece, but I usually start with a fabric that speaks to me.”

Born and raised in Birmingham, he studied apparel design at the University of Alabama before embarking on a career in fashion as a sportswear designer for Lafayette 148 in New York. During this time, Trick developed the pattern-making techniques and design philosophies that are paramount to his furniture pieces today. “My history in apparel design is deeply rooted in my approach to furniture,” he explains. “Not only does a garment or furniture piece need to look a certain way—it has to make someone feel a certain way.”

After a successful start in womenswear, Trick went on to land a handful of noteworthy stints as a contract showroom designer and prop maker for brands including Nautica, Levi Strauss and Tiffany & Co. However, it wasn’t until he began working for a high-end furniture and upholstery workroom in San Francisco that he found his true creative calling. “I was able to get really hands-on with the drapery and furniture-making process,” he says. “I had a real aha moment that this was what I was meant to do.”

Trick’s studio receives nearly 2,000 yards of fabric each month.Jim Larsen

Motivated, Trick moved back to his hometown in 2010 and launched his eponymous upholstery and soft furnishings atelier in the nearby suburb of Irondale. Along with offering bespoke drapery services, he began collaborating with interior designers and clients on a range of hand-tailored furnishings. “Everything is designed with the client in mind,” he says. “From the initial sketch to the first cut to the final finishes, I try to consider how they will actually live with the piece.”

To bring his custom creations to life, Trick and his team of highly skilled artisans apply centuries-old craft techniques to forge a variety of haute furniture accents, including inlay, tufting and nailhead trim. The designer says he immerses himself in every step of the process—from frames to cushion inserts and comfort melding—to ensure each piece is every bit as welcoming as it is unique. “It could easily take five days of labor to complete just one chair,” he says.

What started as a one-man custom upholstery studio has since snowballed into an internationally respected 24-person operation employing everyone from upholsterers and tailors to a team member solely responsible for receiving textile deliveries—a full-time job now that the workshop gets nearly 2,000 yards of fabric each month.

More recently, Trick unveiled his namesake furniture collection, which features 17 gorgeous made-to-order designs, including a shapely swivel chair with extra wide (and comforting) arms and an intricately hand-quilted sectional sofa. “This line was designed to stand the test of time,” he says. “It’s artisanal, fashionable and chic—all the things you want a piece of furniture to be.”

Cathie Wood Sells $270 Million in Tesla as Bond Rout Hurts Ark - Yahoo Finance

sedar.indah.link

(Bloomberg) -- Cathie Wood sold a near $270 million stake in Tesla Inc. as the bond selloff hit rate-sensitive technology stocks to spur outflows from her growth-focused funds.

Most Read from Bloomberg

Wood’s Ark Investment Management offloaded more than 340,000 Tesla shares across three exchange-traded funds on Tuesday, according to the firm’s daily trading update.

Some 11% of the famous ARK Innovation ETF (ticker ARKK) is still betting on Elon Musk’s company, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The firm tends to trim the stake when it rises above 10%. Tesla has generally outperformed in the global rout hitting rate-sensitive investing styles, while ARKK posted one of its worst sessions in months on Tuesday.

Meanwhile data overnight showed money managers withdrew $297 million from the growth-focused fund on Monday, the most since March, to bring the four-day outflow to more than $660 million.

Since the Federal Reserve signaled last week a move to taper pandemic stimulus, Treasury yields have jumped and sent a shockwave through growth shares. Ark funds are heavily exposed to such names thanks to Wood’s focus on disruptive innovation and tech.

Tesla remains Wood’s largest bet as the biggest holding for the flagship ARKK fund as well as the firm overall. She predicts its shares will rise from around $778 currently to $3,000. However, Ark often trims its stake in the carmaker when it has performed very well or grown too large in the portfolio.

The carmaker was up 5.7% this month through Tuesday, compared with a 5.2% drop for the Nasdaq 100 tech gauge. ARKK was down 8.2%.

Trading arrangements for the Ark ETFs mean flow data arrives with a one-day lag, but given ARKK’s 4.2% slump on Tuesday it’s likely there were more outflows in the latest session. If so, the amount of Tesla sold by the firm could have been higher than $270 million, since the daily trading updates show only actions by the Ark team, and do not include redemption activity caused by investor flows.

ARKK gained 0.4% as of 10:03 a.m. in New York, while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.8% and Tesla climbed 1%.

(Updates with Wednesday trading.)

The 9 Tools You Need to Flip Furniture According to TikTok - Architectural Digest

sedar.indah.link

When flipping furniture, painting a piece is often what makes the biggest visual impact. Sanding the item down first gives a piece what Muscari describes as “teeth” for the paint.

“It gives the paint something to stick to,” she says. “If you think of a really glossy surface, you’re just going to slide right over it, so you want the surface to be roughed up just a bit.” Sanders also come in handy when you need to strip a piece or smooth down any holes or dents you may have filled. For this task, Muscari prefers to use the Dewalt 5 Inch Random Orbit Sander.

Christina McGaugh mentions that if you’re going for the most inexpensive flipping starter pack, at least having sandpaper is a must. But, “once you’re ready to take it a little more seriously, invest in a sander,” she says, and recommends the Black+Decker Random Orbit Sander for beginners.

Meghan Wheeler uses the Makita Orbital Sander. “It just works really well,” she says. “But you can also get orbital sanders for $30 that get the job done.”

Paintbrushes

Once your furniture is cleaned and prepped, you’ll need a good synthetic brush to finish the flip. Emphasis on synthetic, as those will provide a smoother finish and more precision while painting. Added bonus: You can use them with primer and topcoat too. “My favorites are Zibra brushes,” Wheeler says. “They just give you a really nice finish.”

Muscari likes Dixie Belle brand, but they’re a more expensive option—running anywhere from $20 to $40 for a single brush. Similar to Wheeler, she also recommends Zibra brushes, which are available at $47 for a set of four brushes specifically for furniture.

Primer, paint, and sealer

A Dixie Belle fan through and through, Muscari likes that the paint’s formula is specific to furniture, and they sell finishing topcoats too. “The more you invest in quality products, the happier you’ll be with your end results,” she says.

“My favorite brand of paint is Melange for a more flat finish and Plaster Paint Co. for more of a shine,” Maggie McGaugh says. Neither of these requires primer or sealer, so you’ll save both time and money.

But if affordability is a really important factor in your furniture flipping goals, take a page out of Wheeler’s playbook and grab a $5 sample from Behr paint at a Home Depot. “With the right prep of sanding and priming, it actually sticks and works really well on furniture,” she says.

With this option, you’ll want a really good primer. Wheeler recommends Zinsser brand because it has stain- and smell-blocking capabilities, a particularly helpful bonus when it comes to old furniture. For sealer she likes Varathane because “it comes in all different sheens and provides a very protective topcoat.”

Drill and screwdriver

While a drill and screwdriver might not be necessary for an absolutely bare-bones flip kit, they can certainly be useful. “If you want to add new hardware, a drill helps,” Wheeler explains. “I also have a tiny electric screwdriver to take off hardware and put new hardware on.”

McGaugh recommends the Black+Decker 4V Max Cordless Screwdriver to those looking to build a basic starter kit. The Black+Decker 20V Max Cordless Drill/Driver also gets consistently good reviews, and it comes with a 30-piece accessory kit.

A piece to flip

Ultimately, none of these tools are necessary if you don’t have a piece of furniture you actually want to flip. If you’re struggling to determine what’s flippable and what’s at the end of its life, a good indicator is basic functionality.

“You just want to make sure that the piece is structurally sound so that you’re not having to do a bunch of work on it before you start,” Muscari says, “You don’t want to have to do a lot of repairs.” Wheeler agrees, “I personally stray away from things that are broken.”

Before you flip an item, make sure it’s standing well, the drawers work, and there isn’t any major damage. Then it’s time to let your creativity shine through—with all your newly purchased tools in hand. As McGaugh notes, “Honestly, so much of it comes down to playing around with different brands and seeing what you like best.”

What's Been Going On In Matt Sparx's Wood Shop? - New Country 99.1

sedar.indah.link

Over the past couple of months, I have not only been busy at work but at home in the woodshop. Looking back on the past few years, my skills have really increased. I started out with a couple of used items like a miter saw, jigsaw, and sanders and have moved my way up.

Five years ago, I never imagined the level I would be at, much less the love I have for the hobby. It all started out when we needed a coffee table and dining room table for our house. The coffee table only took a couple of weeks to build in my spare time. The Dining room table on the other hand took nearly a year to complete.

Matt Sparx

The farmhouse-style table is made out of harvested Beetle Kill pine from the Red Feather Lakes area. The legs and frame of the table are held together with traditional joinery and no screws. The top has traditional breadboard ends with through tenons to hold the breadboard in place to reduce the chances of bowing when the wood moves with the seasons. There are only eight screws in the entire table that are used to secure the top to the legs.

The past few years, I have used my skills that have been either self-taught or learned via YouTube to create various things that are needed around our home, and gifts for friends and family. I have even made urns... Unfortunately, I have made too many of them in recent years.

As of late, I find myself drawn to cutting boards. I like building them and people love getting them as gifts. Not to mention, if they are properly taken care of, they can last for generations. There is still plenty of time in 2021 left, however, I wanted to share some of the creations that I have made this year with all of you.

2021 Matt Sparx Woodworking Projects

Here are a few of the woodworking projects that I have been working on in 2021.

I have been asked by many people how I make these cutting boards. I decided to jump on the TikTok train and showcase exactly how I make them. This highlights the build of the Tennesee cutting board:

Are you a maker? We would love to see what you have built. Send us a photo of one of your creations on the app.

FOOTBALL: Freshman Quaker's late TD helps Kettle Run hold off James Wood, 42-28 - Fauquier Times

The start of the Northwestern District schedule brought extra urgency to Kettle Run’s showdown against previously undefeated James Wood last Friday.

Played before a pumped up Homecoming crowd, the Cougars began their playoff push with a needed win, building a big lead and holding on to beat the talented Colonels 42-28.

In a game that had plenty of thrills, Kettle Run (4-1) used an 80-yard pick six interception return by Kamran Dinicolantonio to take a 7-0 lead and never trailed, building solid leads of 21-7, 28-7, and 35-14.

But James Wood (3-1) made life nervous for Cougar faithful, fighting back to make it 35-28 late in the third quarter.

“We made it a point to reiterate that we were still ahead, and not to let the wheels fall completely off,” said Kettle Run coach Charlie Porterfield. “Knowing how good James Wood’s staff is, we did not expect them to let up. We knew they still had stuff in their playbook they wanted to get out.”

Coming in for injured running back Peyton Mehaffey with the game on the line, freshman Colton Quaker rescued the Cougars with four huge runs in a game-clinching drive. Quaker’s 11-yard touchdown run with 8:11 left accounted for the game’s final points.

“That was a great spark from a young kid.  He was the next fullback in. We thought he was our next best guy,” said Porterfield of Quaker, who also starts at linebacker.

Other Cougar stars were Beau Lang, who completed 11-of-15 for 193 yards and two TDs and was also named Homecoming King. Jacob Robinson had six catches, for 117 yards and a TD and Peyton Mehaffey had 76 rushing yards.

Senior placekicker Ella Slevin continued her superb season by going 6-for-6 on extra points.

Kam's pick six

After stopping Kettle Run’s opening drive, James Wood drove deep into Cougar territory. Upon reaching the red zone, Colonels quarterback Jared Neal saw his swing pass pop off the hands of receiver Jaden Ashby right to Dinicolantonio near the right flat, and he raced untouched for 80 yards to the end zone to make it 7-0 after Ella Slevin’s kick.

“Kam jumped the play and read it and it tipped into his hands in full stride. I don’t think a cornerback could be in a much better setup (for a pick six),” said Porterfield.

James Wood responded less than 15 seconds later when Wes Brondos raced 34 yards for a TD to make it 7-7 with 7:17 left in the quarter.

The Cougars scored three straight TDs in trying to turn the game into a rout.

Abram Chumley looked like a baseball outfielder as he twisted to catch a 50-yard TD pass from Beau Lang in the middle of the field, then ran up the right sideline to make it 14-7.

Lang made it 21-7 on a 15-yard TD run, then later connected with dangerous Jacob Robinson on a 25-yard TD strike across the middle of the end zone as the Cougars bolted ahead 28-7 early in the second quarter.

James Wood blocked a punt midway at the KRHS 6-yard line and soon scored on Jaden Ashby’s 7-yard run to make it 28-14.

Kettle Run tried to put the Colonels away in the third quarter as Jordan Tapscott scored on a 19-yard reverse to complete an 11-play, 69-yard drive and make it 35-14 with just 1:23 left in the third.

Surely, the Colonels were done, right? Not so fast.

Kettle Run kicked deep to the speedy Ashby, which proved a mistake, as he went 79 yards through the Kettle Run defense to make it 35-21.

Lang threw an interception on Kettle Run’s next series, and James Wood soon made it 35-28 when Neal hit a wide-open Zack Rose on first down for a 37-yard TD to make it 35-28 with 28 seconds left in the third.

But the Cougars had a response. Taking over on their own 30, they went 70 yards in four minutes to rebuild the lead. Peyton Mehaffey had two huge runs of 23 and eight yards before leaving with a leg injury.

In came Quaker, who had four straight runs of nine, seven, five and 11 yards for a TD to give his team a huge lift. “I’m proud he handled it so well,” said Porterfield of Quaker.

“No one ever panicked. We were still up and felt in control,” said Porterfield of the dwindling lead.

Still, he admitted kicking deep to James Wood’s Ashby was a mistake, as were the interception and subsequent TD pass that tightened it.

“We would have been happier if we had made stops on those two plays. But the defense settled down, and the offense got it back for a drive and eating up the clock one more time late in the game,” he said.

Liberty-Kettle Run next

After dropping their season opener to Heritage, Kettle Run has won four in a row. Now the Cougars are 1-0 in district heading into Friday’s game at Liberty (0-3), which is coming off a bye.

“People are trying to discredit them but we’re not doing that over here. They’re a good team and when they figure it out they’re going to be hard to stop,” Porterfield said.

“Anytime we play those guys it will be a tough one.“
