VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Article, a direct-to-consumer modern furniture brand, has launched its spring 2022 outdoor collection and extended its favorite designs.
For the outdoor collection, Article has placed a focus on deep-seated, oversized pieces, overstuffed cushions, collection extensions, fun prints and an overall modern appeal. Many new colors and shapes seen in the 2022 outdoor catalog take a nod from nature: rounded, gentle curves; grounded bases dipping closer to the ground; and soft cushions that create sinking nests. Article has introduced color palettes inspired by golden hour, high-blue skies and forest canopies.
Natural materials and woven textures also lend themselves into a coastal look, along with some new synthetic rattan pieces to evoke a desert treasure feel. Notable materials in the collection include power-coated aluminum, solid teak, terrazzo, 100% recycled Pet and synthetic wicker.
“In 2021, we saw rattan and rope weaving take the spotlight along with nature inspired color palettes like calming greens, terracotta, deep yellows and rich blues,” said Andrea Rathborne, creative director, product design. “We’ll continue to see these trends popular through 2022 but will also see the introduction of new trends like rounded, organic shapes as seen in our Murrel collection, bigger textures and weaving, along with bold, natural seating like our popular Lubek sectional.”
Highlights from Article’s spring 2022 outdoor collection include:
Tody Lounge Chair
- The Murrel sectional is boho in style with a rounded geometry and thickly woven faux wicker, bringing a softness to its solid aluminum-base frame.
- The Tody lounge chair is a classic faux wicker chair featuring curved arm rests and a tightly woven faux rope trim. The crisscrossed powder-coated steel frame and removable cushions upholstered in UV and stain resistant fabric add durability that makes this chair suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
- The Calliope oval dining table features black wicker and a solid-wood acacia top putting a spin on a California classic.
- The Burkel collection reflects a refined and modern industrial look, with an exposed power-coated aluminum frame.
