DUNDEE, Ohio – Trailway, an Amish-made dining room furniture company, announced the winner of its hand-crafted, limited-edition chess set on Oct. 19 during the recent High Point Market.
The chess set had originally started out as a one of a kind; however, during its production, Jonas Miller the owner of Trailway, was so fond of it that he personally wanted to keep it. With enough wood and time (the sets take more than 100 hours to complete), two sets were made, one ready to give away during High Point Market.

The market giveaway was open to all retailers that visited Trailway’s showroom on the fifth floor of the Radio Building. The winner of the limited-edition chess set is Michael Avedikian, the vice president of Fashion Furniture in Fresno, Calif.
The board is made from hardwoods purchased at Keim Lumber in Ohio that includes black walnut from America, Jotoba Brazilian cherry and Pau Amarello yellow heart wood. Each chess piece has its own black velvet labeled compartment in the drawer.

In addition to the entering for the giveaway, retailers visiting the Trailway showroom this market saw its new Catskill Mountain dining collection, which features a color collaboration with Lauren West, global color and design director of Sherwin-Williams. The table base is made in red oak and its top in a brown maple. The collection includes benches barstools, swivel barstools and solid top tables that seat eight.
