NCCAA AWARDS

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The NCCAA is pleased to announce Isaak Ramsey of Cedarville University as the 2021 Dan & Kelly Wood Award Recipient for Men's Golf.

A native of Peoria, Illinois, Ramsey has served Jesus Christ and the Cedarville golf program well in his four years.

Ramsey made himself available to help others and treated others, especially his competitors, with respect as fellow image-bearers of God.

The senior marketing major has also worked hard in the classroom, having been named to the Dean's List.

Not only does Ramsey consistently endeavor to grow and strengthen his relationship with Christ, but he also strives to be the best golfer. His current season average ranks as the second lowest in Cedarville history.

His yearly scoring average has consistently improved, dropping by about three strokes every year since his freshman year.

Ramsey demonstrates steady progress, dedication in the classroom, commitment to following Christ, and serving his teammates while leading them simultaneously.

Head Men's Golf Coach Ryan Bowen emphasizes, "Isaak is the leader of the golf team, plain and simple.  He shows his leadership skills to his teammates by volunteering for jobs to help the team.

"He organizes team workdays at the local course, encourages individual workouts, and represents the team on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. His talents reach far beyond the golf course, making him an asset to our team, but more importantly, someone who will impact the world for Christ for many years to come."

The Dan & Kelly Wood Award is the first of the 2021-22 Game Plan 4 LIFE (GP4L) Character Awards Series. These awards serve as the top award within the sport recognizing academic excellence, athletic achievement, and Christian service & conduct.

Built on the Christ-like traits of Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence, the GP4L Awards Series seeks to honor one student-athlete in each sport who best displays these qualities.

Additionally, junior Will Evans was named an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete. The list includes juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average.
