Man Hospitalized After Being Struck, Pinned By Wood Chipper - CBS Pittsburgh

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A man was taken to the hospital after he was struck and pinned by a runaway wood chipper Wednesday morning in South Fayette Township.

According to Allegheny County Dispatch, just after 8:30 a.m., the equipment used to tow the wood chipper broke free and hit the man in the 300 block of Faucet Church Road.

A tree removal service used a second vehicle to move the wood chipper towing equipment, Cecil Township Police said.

The man, who has not been identified, injured his leg. He is in his 50s.

OSHA is investigating the accident.
