WEST POINT, N.Y.—Senior Jennifer Kerr and sophomore Sasha Wood led nine Columbia women's tennis players this weekend at the ITA Regionals, which were played at Army this weekend. Kerr and Wood each won three consecutive singles matches to advance to the ITA Super Regional play, scheduled for October 15-18 at Princeton.
 
The duo will join senior Akanksha Bhan and the doubles team of Wood and sophomore Julia Haynes at ITA Super Regionals. Bhan and the doubles squad already qualified for the ITA Super Regionals before this weekend's competition.
 
Kerr defeated Connecticut's Aleksandra Karamyshev 6-4, 6-3, then beat Brown's Sophia Reddy 6-4, 6-2. She then advanced to Super Regional play with a 7-5, 4-6 (10-7) win over Yale's Rena Lin. Wood first defeated Stony Brook's Mathilde Sreeves 6-3, 6-2, then advanced with a 6-4, 6-2 win over UMass' Danielle Hack. She secured her berth to ITA Super Regionals with a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-4 (10-6) win over Harvard's Holly Fischer.
 
In singles, Haynes and first-year Winta Tewolde each won two matches apiece, while first-year Clarine Lerby registered one victory. In doubles, Kerr and sophomore Rachel Rimondini won one match.
 
Columbia is back in action next weekend at the Charlotte Invitational in Charlotte, N.C., Friday through Sunday, Oct. 8-10.
