CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Furniture of America has acquired an additional warehouse facility near its southern California headquarters in the San Gabriel Valley.
The 500,000-square-foot building is situated along the CA-60 Highway and is expected to increase the total capacity of the industry distribution center to more than 1million square feet. With an anticipated opening late this fall, the new warehouse will become the base of operation for its e-commerce division.
“Upsizing does come with significant risk especially at a time like this,” said Rocky Young, director of marketing. “But like many challenges we’ve faced before as a growing company, we see this as another opportunity to prepare for incoming inventory and future demand. We’re betting big on the resiliency of the furniture industry and like everyone else, we are optimistic that we’ll get back to normal soon. When that time comes, we hope to be in a much better position to serve the needs of our local dealers and drop-ship customers.”
This is the fifth expansion for the full-line resource group in as little as 10 years. Other branches in Dallas, Fresno, Atlanta and Secaucus have all undergone similar developments to accommodate growing demand. Furniture of America now maintains more than 2 million square feet of total warehouse space across the U.S.
