On Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, Vickie Wood Abate-Lincke was called home to Heaven while surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Abate; parents, Alton and Mattie Wood; and brothers and sister, Phil Wood, Freddie Mack Wood and Shirley Wood.
Vickie is survived by her husband of six years, Steve Lincke; daughters, Sarah Garriss and Alex Abate and fiancé Brandon Herring; son, Brad Abate and wife Andrea; three grandchildren, Audrey Abate, Braelyn Abate and Callen Abate; brother, Ray Wood; sister, Frances Garriss; five stepchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Kristina, Courtni and Hannah Lincke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who were like siblings.
A celebration of Vickie’s life will take place at Coats Baptist Church on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Neal Thornton and Rick Kelly officiating.
The family will receive friends and family two hours prior to the service at Coats Baptist Church, as well as at other times at the home of Steve and Vickie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
