Summer Moon ‘wood-fired’ coffee shop expands to Celina - The Dallas Morning News

Known for oak-roasted coffee and Moon Milk, a house-made creamer with secret ingredients, Summer Moon Coffee has opened a new location in a 100-year-old building in downtown Celina.

Inspired by 19th century coffeemakers, Summer Moon beans are hand-roasted in wood-fired brick ovens. This gives the brew a smooth, non-acidic flavor. A sweet cream infused with syrup, Moon Milk is one of Summer Moon’s signatures, used as a creamer or an ingredient in lattes.

Moon Milk also makes Summer Moon coffee drinks highly customizable. For those who like their lattes rich, for example, a Full Moon Latte is made entirely with Moon Milk. A Half Moon latte is made with equal parts Moon Milk and skim milk. On the other end of the spectrum, a Whisper Moon Latte is made with skim milk and just a dash of Moon Milk.

First open in Austin in 2005, Summer Moon Coffee now has several Texas locations in cities including Keller, Frisco and Fort Worth.
