March 17, 1933 – Sept. 25, 2021
Mrs. Patrick Mallory Wood, age 88, a former resident of Chocowinity, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Raleigh.
A private graveside service will be held.
Pat was born in Martin County on March 17, 1933. She was the daughter of the late James Brantley Mallory and Bessie Whitfield Mallory. She was married to Joshua Kingsley Wood, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the ARC of Beaufort County.
Pat was a devoted wife and remarkable mother, ensuring her family had all that could be provided. From pickles made from the garden in the back yard, to hand-sewn outfits for the Barbie dolls, she had a talent for creating something from nothing. This gift was shared beyond her family by Pat’s volunteer work. Her enduring faith and positive outlook served her well through life’s ups and downs.
She is survived by her children, Patrick Kingsley Wood and Patricia Hope Wood both of Chocowinity, Virginia Wood Boyle and husband, Daniel of Raleigh, Suzan Elizabeth Wood Minero and husband, Ralph of Albuquerque, NM, Natalie Anne Wood Dunn and husband, Daniel of Hillsborough; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eagle’s Wings, P.O. Box 426, Washington, N.C. 27889.
Online condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.paulfuneralhome.com
Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is honored to serve the Wood family.
