Wood yielded two runs on six hits and a pair of walks over 5.1 innings Thursday against the Mets. He struck out five and did not factor into the decision.
Wood held the Mets off the board through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth. After fanning Francisco Lindor to open the frame, Wood gave up a double to Javier Baez and a two-run homer to Pete Alonso before giving way to the bullpen in a 2-2 tie. Wood has just one win over his last six starts, but he's held his opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his last three times out. He'll take a 10-4 record, 4.11 ERA and 1.22 WHIP into his next scheduled start.
