HOWE, Ind. — DutchCrafters Amish Furniture, a leading online retailer of Amish furniture and part of JMX Brands, has purchased Pletcher Farm in Howe, Ind.
Sitting along State Road 9, the 30-acre parcel was once well known throughout the community for its horses. In addition to its horse track, the property includes a stable, three-bedroom house, picket fences, fields of hay and dozens of maple trees.
“The farm is just a few miles south of the toll road that connects Chicago to Detroit,” said DutchCrafters CEO Jim Miller. “
The Pletcher property is also only a 10-minute drive from the current DutchCrafters warehouse and outlet store in LaGrange, Ind. Miller says the small business is in the process of determining how the property could be used for warehouse space and local retail needs.
“As we consider future plans for this property, we are also evaluating ways to preserve the rich history of the farm,” said Miller.
