Clarets’ striker Chris Wood helped New Zealand create footballing history by reaching the quarter-finals of the Olympics.
Wood captained the New Zealand side which drew their final group game against Romania 0-0 to advance to the last eight.
They became the first men’s team from the country to reach the quarter-finals of an Olympics or World Cup and will now face hosts Japan on Saturday .
Wood – playing as one of three over-age players permitted in an Under-23 squad – has performed a key role in helping the OlyWhites progress.
Burnley’s current Player of the Year and his country's record goalscorer struck New Zealand’s winner in their opening 1-0 success over South Korea.
And he scored again in a 3-2 loss to Honduras which helped the side coached by ex-Leeds and Walsall striker Danny Hay progress on goal difference by finishing second in Group B.
