Brayden Wood comes to Kansas State after a great four-year career at Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado. He was a four-year starter at defensive tackle for the Knights coached by Tom McCartney.
Wood was rated as the 55th best strongside defensive end in the country by Rivals as a prospect but will play defensive tackle for the Wildcats. ESPN rated him as the No. 4 player in Colorado in the 2021 class.
In 2020, he was an honorable mention All-American by Sports Illustrated and a preseason All-State pick by Colorado Prep Report.
He finished his senior season tallying 58 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss and three sacks in only seven games. That performance earned him First Team All-State, a third straight All-Conference honor. Wood was also named conference MVP and BoCoPrep.com Defensive Player of the Year.
