Export Furniture Exhibition rescheduled to March 2022 - Furniture Today

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Organizers of the Export Furniture Exhibition have postponed the next show until March 2022.

The show was originally scheduled for Aug. 30-Sept. 1. However, due to the current uptick in COVID-19 cases that have already caused a country-wide shutdown, organizers have rescheduled the event for March 9-12, 2022.

This also aligns with the rescheduled Malaysia International Furniture Fair, which is now set for March 8-11, 2022. It was originally planned to take place Sept. 1-4.

EFE organizers said the March 2022 show will be 30% larger than the last EFE show in March 2019. It is expected to showcase product from more than 400 manufacturers from Malaysia and other parts of Southeast Asia, which will occupy about 450,000 square feet of space at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.

The event will also feature a new Office Furniture Hall featuring commercial and residential grade office furniture from well-known Malaysian manufacturers.

Other categories at the EFE show will include bedroom and dining room furniture, living room furniture, youth furniture, bedding, outdoor furniture as well as home accents and accessories.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, organizers said they are “confident that EFE 2022 will not only be a productive experience for international buyers and visitors, but it will set the benchmark even higher as the must- visit furniture marketplace every year in Southeast Asia and one of the biggest export platforms for Malaysian furniture. A robust B2B platform for buyers to interact with suppliers where great opportunities, partnerships and prosperity awaits.”

I'm Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
