An artist’s clay begins as stones. (More like huge boulders.) Pulverized, custom-blended with other rocks, and moistened, is then extruded as a smooth and pliable medium. It’s then that clay artists explore a variety of hardening and firing techniques to turn their clay back to stone. Each technique offers its own beauty, challenges, and surprises. This show will demonstrate the differences that firing with salt, wood, and raku can create. Featuring the Ceramic Guild.
