Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon furniture store that is in the midst of an inventory liquidation became something of a drive-in Tuesday afternoon.
The Ten Clay family bought R&J’s New & Used recently, when former owner Roger Sterler retired. The Ten Clay’s are in the process of selling off the R&J’s inventory, but had their sale interrupted Tuesday afternoon when a driver reportedly tried to step on the brake, but instead hit the accelerator, losing control and crashing their vehicle into the north wall of the R&J’s building at 2nd Avenue and 7th Street.
The impact opened a large opening in the wall of the store. No other details are available at this time.
