BRISTOL, Conn. – Gregory Andrew Curry, a 33-year furniture industry veteran, passed away on May 5. He was 55 years old.

Curry was born on Sept. 25, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Ind., and later moved to Connecticut, where he spent most of his youth before graduating from Rhode Island’s Johnson & Wales University in 1988.

His passion was designing, creating and selling furniture. Following his father’s footsteps into the furniture industry, Curry began his career in retail sales.

He moved through the industry in various sales positions and rose through the ranks until he became a founding partner at Engender Furniture, where he was able to put his own furniture designs on the floor. He then worked at Spectra Furniture as the director of merchandising.

Curry is survived by his wife, Regina, six children, his parents Gordon and Janet Curry, and two sisters. Curry also leaves behind three grandchildren (one on the way) as well as three nieces and one brother-in-law.

A celebration of Curry’s life will be held at a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, at Bethel Christian Church, 750 Stevens St. Bristol, Conn. 06010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Go Fund Me Account to benefit the education requirements of Curry’s two youngest children.
