Louisville, Ken. – DePaul track & field wrapped up the first day of the Clark Wood Open on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky. Michael Parry and Ben Lee highlighted the day for DePaul, finishing one-two in the men's 800m run.
Parry logged a time of 1:51.29 to win the event and set a new personal record on the outdoor track. Meanwhile, Lee finished only .38 seconds behind Parry in second place.
For the DePaul women, Tori Carroll posted an impressive performance in the women's long jump, recording a distance of 6.04m and finishing sixth. The mark was the longest ever for Carroll and is just .06 meters behind MaShayla Kirksy's school record that has stood since 2015.
On the track, DePaul's Kiersten Walker posted a new personal best in the 200m dash by logging a 24.08. Walker finished third and improved her time by a tenth of a second after running a 24.18 in Louisville back on April 2. Lori Cashdollar also turned in a top-5 finish for DePaul and recorded a season-best time of 2:13.04 in the 800m run.
DePaul will complete the Clark Wood Open on Saturday at the University of Louisville. Events begin on the track at 11 a.m. CT with the prelims of the women's 100m dash.
After setting a school record last week, DePaul's Olivia Borowiak will run the 1500m at 12:20 p.m. On the men's side, Jarel Terry will toe the line at 1:35 p.m. for the 400m after setting a new personal best in the event last week.
Following this weekend's meet, the Blue Demons will head to Marquette on May 1 before competing at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on May 14 and 15.
