ANN ARBOR, MI -- Two new Value City Furniture stores will be opening up in Ann Arbor and Westland, replacing the Loves Furniture stores after their company filed for bankruptcy less than six months after reopening former Art Van stores.
These store openings are following a series of hiring events hosted by Value City Furniture, helping those who’ve recently lost their jobs at Loves Furniture stay employed.

The first opening is taking place in Ann Arbor at 425 E Eisenhower Pkwy, on Feb.11, and the second will be in Westland at 8300 N Wayne Rd on Feb. 25.
These new locations for Value City Furniture (VCF) will be featuring new concepts focused on Designer Looks, VCF Account Executive Elizabeth Zimmerman said in an email. Customers will see new and popular seasonal styles featured in stylish vignettes in hopes that it will give their customers inspiration on how to style their home, she added.
Designer Looks offers high-end designer trends offered at affordable prices, and are built from the brand’s 125-year-old North Carolina workshop.
This new concept offers a Make it You series that allows customers to create customizable sofas and sectionals, and the ComfortTech series, which offers power reclining seats with an extensive selection of styles and unique features.
