Bennington Furniture announced Wednesday it would merge with Old Brick Furniture and Mattress Co.

The owners of Bennington Furniture announced Wednesday the company has merged with Old Brick Furniture.

An email to customers read in part, "We have spent the last 31 years earning your trust, furnishing your home and helping you sleep better...the exciting news is this, we found another local family-owned and operated furniture and mattress store that has the same values as we do. So, we're joining forces. Over the coming months, Bennington Furniture will become Old Brick Furniture + Mattress Co.

The store locations are in Albany, Schenectady, Queensbury in New York; Pittsfield, Mass.; and Bennington, Rutland, West Dover and Manchester, Vt.

According to the email, owners, staff and design services will remain the same. The email referred customers to the company Facebook and Instagram pages for the first step in the transition.

Store owners did not return a request for comment.
