CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Online furniture resource Smart Furniture has launched a new home office line that it said was developed in response to a growing demand for functional and accessibly priced home office furniture similar to that seen in upper end commercial office spaces.
The Smarter Office is offering about 20 pieces to start out, including desks and cabinets with laminate surfaces. The materials story could evolve as the company continues to develop more items.
The initial items range from a $189 two-drawer Moxie file pedestal cabinet to a $999 Balance Height adjustable desk and a $974 Whisper Height pneumatic desk. There are also desk chairs including the $476 Verve desk chair and the $787 Cadence desk chair, as well as accessories such as lamps, privacy panels, chair mats and footrests.
“Every piece of the Smarter Office line was specifically designed for remote work,” the company said. “It is our mission to be our customers’ single go-to brand for all of their home office needs. We want you to love everything about your home workspace.”
Smart Furniture is a full-line offering that includes bedroom, dining room, living room, entertainment, office and outdoor furniture as well as lighting, accents and décor.
The company said it has produced office furniture for home offices and small businesses for more than 20 years. The Smarter Office line has been in development since October 2019, but the work from home trend resulting from COVID-19 sped up the rollout, said Chris Wilson, CEO of Smart Furniture.
“Prior to the pandemic, a home office may have been an afterthought for many workers,” Wilson said. “But after spending entire work weeks in improvised home workstations, people are coming to us looking to make an investment in a comfortable space that will enable them to achieve the same levels of productivity they previously experienced in the office environment.”
“We’re excited to partner with individuals and businesses who have identified immediate and future needs for office-level comfort in residential spaces,” he noted, adding that future product development will provide as “many options as people could need to make their home office as productive as possible.”
Consumers can shop the line directly at www.smartfurniture.com and have items shipped directly to their homes. A line of experts the company refers to as “Furniture Geniuses” are also on hand to help walk them through their decisions and make sure their selections are in line with their specific needs.
Pieces will begin shipping May 15 from the company’s Chattanooga, Tenn., warehouse. They ship the same day as long as they are ordered before 2 p.m. EST.
