UPPER HANOVER TWP., Pa. - A Montgomery County business announced layoffs as part of its restructuring due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Knoll, Inc., a furniture designer and manufacturer, is cutting about 275 employees, the company said Wednesday.
Knoll management took the opportunity of the report to tell shareholders how they plan to meet the COVID-19 challenge and return the company to the solid growth it had been experiencing.
The move is expected to save the company about $24 million annually, it said.
Knoll, headquartered near East Greenville, had previously cut spending by freezing open positions and cancelling some mid-year salary increases and cash bonuses.
Knoll had also announced the closure of its manufacturing facility in Michigan.
